The Philippine Olympic Festival (POF) is an initiative of the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) that will lay down the foundation of a Philippine Sports System through the integration, both horizontally and vertically, of all the sports development efforts by different sectors.

Organize
the POF Games in the tradition of the Olympic
Games
|

Promote
and propagate the values of the Olympic Movement
- Friendship, Solidarity and Fair Play |

Forge
partnerships with the Philippine Sports
Commission (PSC), Local Government Units (LGUs),
sponsors and other sectors |
| d. |
Set-up
a talent identification program, a long-term
athletes development program and other programs
for the benefit of young potential athletes in
preparation for future Olympic Games. |

| The Organizing Committee |
|
The Philippine Olympic Festival Organizing Committee (POFOC) was created by the POC to plan, organize, and oversee the POF Games to be run by participating National Sports Associations (NSAs), and appoint host Local Government Units (LGUs). The POFOC shall have officers, sub-committees and a secretariat to assist its Chairman.

There shall be five (5) POF Qualifying Games: |

Central/Northern Luzon (CNL) Qualifying Games
National Capital Region (NCR) Qualifying Games
Bicol/Southern Tagalog
(BST) Qualifying Games
Visayas Qualifying Games
Mindanao Qualifying Games |
| b. |
The medal winners of the POF Qualifying Games and all participating NSA national team members shall compete in the POF National Championships. |
| c. |
The dates and venues of the POF Qualifying Games and of the POF National Championships shall be determined by the
POFOC. |

Competition Formats: |

Age Group determined by the NSAs
Team Championship determined by the number of gold medals won. |

Cary
”, which is short for carabao, our country’s
beast of burden. The carabao is known to be a
strong animal that can pull heavy loads. The POF
as symbolized by the “
Cary
” can also pull a “heavy load” such as a
talent identification program, long-term
athletes’ development program, etc. |
